Obituary for Anna Marie Wian

Anna Marie Wian, 86, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on October 13, 1934 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eleanor (Shaffer) Garety. On June 5, 1952, she married her beloved husband, Richard E. Wian, who survives at Centre Crest Nursing Home, after sharing over 68 years of marriage together.

Anna was a 1952 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She worked as a salesclerk for Mallory’s, GC Murphy Company, and Western Auto Store until it became Dersham’s Sports Center for many years until her retirement.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by two daughters, Nancy Baldwin (Jim), and Darlene Young (Denny Ripka), all of Bellefonte, two grandsons, Jeremy Muthersbaugh (Jenifer) and Jason Muthersbaugh, and six great granddaughters. Also surviving is one sister, Dolly Fenush of Pleasant Gap.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Verna Shultz, and one brother, Clarence Garety, Jr.

Anna was a lifelong member of Valley View United Methodist Church. She was an avid crafter and spent her life taking care of her family, who will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
