Obituary for Betty J. Frazee (Loesch)

Betty J. (Loesch) Frazee, 92, of State College, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Centre Care in Bellefonte. Born on December 24, 1929, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Ida Mae (Gross) Loesch.

Betty was a 1947 graduate of the State College High School. She worked as a secretary at the State College Hotel from 1947-1951, Penn State Ordinance Research Lab from 1952-1972, Gordon Pierce Architect Office, Greensburg, PA, from 1973-1983, and returned to Penn State Applied Research Lab from 1985 until her retirement in 1996.

She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Peggy G. Zentner (Charles) of Venice, Florida, Donna K. Loesch of Bellefonte, Dennis K. Loesch (Joyce) of Julian, Linnea L. Slaybaugh (Herman) of Julian, Susan M. Neese of Julian, and Robert L. Loesch (Tina) of Levittown, Pennsylvania, and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer L. Loesch, and sister-in-law, Shirley, and Ralph J. Loesch, and sister-in-law, Helen; and a nephew, William R. Loesch.

Betty was a member of the Pine Hall Lutheran Church. She was a member of the State College VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #321, and the Pine Grove Mills VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #5825, holding various positions throughout the years. She also served with the VFW District 22. She was an avid golfer, belonging to two leagues, playing into her 80’s on the Penn State golf courses. She was a true Penn State fan, attending football games, women’s volleyball, and women’s basketball games. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and especially helping to make peanut butter and coconut Easter eggs at the Pine Hall Lutheran Church.

There will be a public viewing held on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 10-11:00 A.M., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11 A.M., at the funeral home, with Pastor Susan Williamson officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
