Bonnie Rae Runner, 70, of Bellefonte, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Born on July 16, 1952, in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Norma (Carter) Otter. She has spent the last 28 years with her soulmate, Paul Corman, who survives at home.
Bonnie was a 1970 graduate of Boyertown High School. In 1978, she enlisted in the Army National Guard, transferring over to the Air National Guard in 1979, where she remained until 1991. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at various locations throughout the years, but was currently working at Juniper and Foxdale Village, both in State College.
In addition to her life partner, Paul, she is survived by her two children, Scott Otter (Jennifer Martin) of New Castle, Delaware, and Stephanie Runner (Joseph Corman) of Bellefonte, and five grandchildren: Janae, Jacob, Corrine, Little Scott, and Nathan. Also surviving are her siblings, Edward Otter of Salisbury, Maryland, Cheryl Destefano-Tipton of Rising Sun, Maryland, and Lawrence Otter of Newark, Delaware.
Bonnie was a member of the VFW Post #1600 and the American Legion Post #33, both in Bellefonte.
In their younger years, she and Paul enjoyed going for motorcycle rides. Later, she became fond of the Antique Machinery Show. She was an avid animal lover throughout her life, with each of her pets holding a special place in her heart. Bonnie loved camping, especially at Waterside and Gettysburg, and always looked forward to their trips to Ocean City, New Jersey.
A public graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:30 AM, at Meyer Cemetery in Bellefonte, with Rev. Dr. Renee Ford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
