Obituary for Caroline A. Hagelgans
Caroline A. Hagelgans, 83, of State College, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on May 8, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Levonyak and Anna (Knopf) Malfero. On May 4, 1963, she married her beloved husband, Arthur T. Hagelgans, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2018, after sharing 55 years of marriage together.
Caroline was a 1957 graduate of Kerney High School in San Diego, California. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Courthouse until her retirement in 1998.
She is survived by her three children, Lorraine Browdy (Dean) of Drums, Pennsylvania, Julie Gregory (Donnie) of Platteville, Colorado, and Arthur Hagelgans (Tracy) of Spring Mills. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Ashlie, Brianna, Stephanie, Mitchell, Jolene, Mikaela, Wesley, Abby, and Gavin, and 10 great grandchildren.
Caroline was a member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. She enjoyed sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
