Obituary for Charles William Lutchko

Charles William Lutchko, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully with his daughters at his side on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He was born on July 26, 1936, to the late Wasco and Ann (Matier) Lutchko. On November 5, 1960, in Winchester, Virginia, he married Betty Ann Holden, who proceeded him in death on March 10, 2017.

He was a 1954 graduate of BCI High School where he excelled in baseball. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force. He was stationed in several states; but his favorite was Anchorage, Alaska. After the Air Force he returned home to start his career at HRB Singer/Raytheon; where he worked until his retirement.

He is survived by two daughters, Amy Lutchko (Bill) of Westland, MI, and Mindy Terpak (Patrick) of Zion; two grandchildren, Matt Burd, Livonia, MI and Brooke Amos, Grovetown, GA; along with several nieces and nephews and his brother, Henry; of Houtzdale, PA. Also surviving are his three grand dogs, Gracie, Talley, and Rocket.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lynn Lutchko, and his brother, George Lutchko.

Depending on where you knew our dad from; you knew him by “Chi,” “Chuck,” or “Charles.” If you knew him, you knew how generous and caring he was. If you knew him, you could always expect a smile and a wave. He had friendships that lasted his entire life; and he treasured them. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and an even bigger fan of Roberto Clemente. “Beat ‘em Bucs” was a frequent battle cry out the window when he saw a fellow Pirate fan. Dad loved Native American History and enjoyed looking for Indian artifacts; and was philanthropic when it came to these interests. He loved music and was so happy that he finally got to see Bob Seger in concert! He loved Polish food and was a fantastic cook. He liked the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 2018 he took a trip of a lifetime when he went out west to Mount Rushmore.

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
