Obituary for Clarence "Cork" L. McCool

Clarence L. “Cork” McCool, 92, of Bellefonte, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born March 12, 1930, in Bellefonte, PA, he was the son of the late Isabel Fogleman McCool. He married Gwendolyn J. Hevner in 1953, who preceded him in death in June 1999.

Cork was an avid outdoorsman and owned and operated a deer processing business for many years. He retired Rud-Cor Nease Chemical Company after 30 years of service where he also served as Union representative. Cork proudly served in the United States Army Medical Company 504th Air as a Paratrooper from 1950 to 1953.

Surviving is his beloved companion, Pearl Neshteruk, and his six children, Sandra Lucas of Bellefonte, Mary Miller (Arthur) of State College, Jenny Watson (Daniel), Michael McCool, Patrick McCool, Tammy Jusits (Edward) of Bellefonte. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter, two sons, Clarence, Jr., and Timothy, and one grandson, Derek Auman.

He was a long-time member of the Eagle’s Club and a member of the American Legion and served as president of the Trail Cycle Rangers Club.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:00 am., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte, with funeral services beginning at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow with full military honors at Meyer Cemetery.
