Obituary for Delbert L. Bumbarger

Delbert L. Bumbarger, 80, of Pine Grove Mills, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Born on July 10, 1940 in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Anna Holloway.

Delbert was a graduate of State College High School. He worked as a foreman for New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., a Superintendent for Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., and at Stocker Chevrolet of State College.

He is survived by two children, Deborah Beck (Charles) of Port Matilda, and Dameon Bumbarger of Bellefonte, two grandchildren, Charles L. Beck (Meagan), and Christina J. Beck, and five great grandchildren, Cooper Beck, Bailey Beck, Sawyer Beck, Talon Bumbarger, and Noah Mann. Also surviving are four brothers, Jim Bathurst (Joanne), Dean Bathurst (Kate), Bob Bathurst (Judy), and Bill Holloway (Elaine), and one sister, Karen Holloway, all of Pottstown.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry L. Bumbarger, and one granddaughter, Patience M. Bumbarger.

Delbert enjoyed hunting and deep-sea fishing in New Jersey with his brothers and riding his motorcycle. He lived with his long-time companion, Janet Coleman, and they loved to go out and listen to live music together.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 10-11am at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at the funeral home, at 11am, with Pastor Tyler Graham officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
