Obituary for Dorothy Rae Prisk

Dorothy Rae Prisk, 82, of State College, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Centre Care in Bellefonte. Born on September 8, 1939, in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of her late mother, father, and stepmother, Catherine (Bishop) Smith, John Selvage, Sr., and Ruby Selvage-Burg, respectively. She was married to her husband, Robert G. Prisk, who preceded her in death. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her partner, Chalmer Spencer.

Dorothy attended school in Utahville, Pennsylvania. She dedicated her life to raising her family and taking care of her home.

She is survived by her three children, Geraldine Long (Todd) of Millheim, Robert Prisk, Jr. (Billie) of Bellefonte, and Christopher Prisk (Charlotte) of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, with twins expected in May. Also surviving is a brother, Joseph Selvage (Kathy) of Clearfield.

In addition to her husband, parents, and companion, she was predeceased by a son, Frank Prisk, and two brothers, John George Selvage, Jr., and Richard Lloyd Selvage.

Dorothy loved playing BINGO and would go as often as she was able to. She was always an Elvis Presley fan, and an avid animal lover – especially cats. She treasured the time that she spent with her family and loved when they were able to visit.

A public graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 10:00 A.M., at Centre County Memorial Park in State College, with Deacon Thomas Boldin officiating. Arrangements are under the directions of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
