Obituary for Douglas S. Elder Sr.
Douglas S. Elder, Sr., most recently of Vero Beach, FL, went to meet his Lord and Savior on June 11, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was 68. Doug is survived by his wife of 41 years, Suzanne S. Elder and their two sons, Scott (Josie) of Orlando, FL, and Drew (Chrissy) of Kalamazoo, MI, as well as his sister, Judith Elmore, and brother-in-law Timothy Elmore of Alexandria VA. He especially loved his nieces, Beth, and Cate. Likewise, Doug embraced his brother-in-law, Michael Schmidt, who is a current resident of Bellefonte.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., at the Presbyterian Church Building, 203 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. A Celebration of Doug’s life will begin at 11:00 A.M., at the church, with Pastor Candace Dannaker officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or by going to www.diabetes.org/Donate or Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.
