Obituary for Edward A. Rose

Edward A. Rose, 67, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on May 17, 1955, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Carmen P. Rose and Patricia R. Rose, who survives him at home.
Ed was a 1973 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He worked at Bonfatto’s in his earlier years before taking a position as a Nutrition Services Aide for Emcompass Health for 14 years until his passing.
In addition to his mother, Patricia, he is survived by his two children, Michael Rose (Tamara) of Harrisburg, and Taren Rose (husband, Adam Packer) of Bellefonte, and six grandchildren: Steven and Gavin Heverly, Arabella and Amelia Ungers, Finley Packer, and Emma Rose. Also surviving are his siblings, Barbara Hoffman (Douglas) of Camp Hill, and Debbie Rose (husband, Karl Lutz) of Spring Mills.
Along with his father, Carmen, he was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Robert P. Rose.
Ed was interested in cars throughout his life. He enjoyed auto racing and auctions. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Often, if you found yourself in conversation with Ed, you’d hear stories of how proud he was of his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
