Obituary for Grace M. Sunday

Grace Marilyn Sunday, 88, of Julian, passed away at home on Monday, August 15, 2022. Born on April 11, 1934, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Matilda “Myrtle” (Robbins) Bratton. On June 8, 1968, she married her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Harold Sunday, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2020, after sharing nearly 52 years of marriage together.

Grace was a graduate of Philipsburg High School. She worked in the housekeeping department for the former Health South in State College for 20 years until her retirement.

She is survived by one daughter, Tonya Clouser (Scott) of Julian, and one son, Allen Sunday (Tammy) of Pittsburgh, nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Beverly Warren, of State College, and two brothers, Kenneth Bratton (Sissy), and Willard Bratton, both of Philipsburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Bradley Sunday, one grandson, John J. Scully, IV, a brother, Raymond Bratton, and sister-in-law, Donna Bratton.

Grace was well loved for her exceptional cooking! She enjoyed cooking for others. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Alexandra, who dedicated so much of her time to sit and share stories with Grace. She was thankful for her family being able to provide the care for her during her time of need.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.

The family would like to extend their thankfulness to the nurses and staff of 365 Hospice, specifically Lacey, Keesha, and Sue, for the care that they showed Grace during her time of need.
