Jacalyn “Teddy” K. Flynn, 65, of Bellefonte, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on April 9, 1955 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Patricia (Dunlap) Flynn.

Jacalyn graduated from Mount Aloysius College and Duquesne University. She worked at Mt. Nittany Medical Center for over 20 years and as a Traveling Registered Nurse, with her favorite destination being St. Thomas.

She is survived by her sister, Stephanie Flynn of Bellefonte, nephew, William Flynn (Rachelle Lewis), and his son, Taylor Meek, of Saxonburg, and niece, Cassandra Flynn (Malcolm Dullen) of Wingate. Also surviving is her best friend of over 50 years, Nancy Mutch, of Pleasant Gap, and her best boy, Tucker.

Jackie eagerly looked forward to the family trip that she and her family would take to the beach each year. She enjoyed making wreaths in her spare time. More than anything, she treasured the time that she spent surrounded by her family, friends, and adoring canine companion, Tucker.

Jackie’s family has decided to honor her with an Irish Wake/Celebration of Life Memorial that will be announced at a later date. Jackie was loved and respected by so many, so the family thought this would be a fitting tribute. Per Jackie’s wishes, her ashes will be taken to her paradise, Coki Beach in St. Thomas.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 12-3pm at Centre Hall Lions Club, 153 E. Church Street, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jackie’s memory to Centre County PAWS at 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.

Jackie and I were classmates through elementary through high school. Our Benner Elementary years were fun and it was idllic looking back on small classes and so much space outside in which to play. We both were sidelined for 3 weeks from 7th grade at the same time with similar injuries: she had a cracked tailbone and I had an ice skating hematoma. We visited everyday on the phone sharing stories of favorite games, toys and foods. Without Jackie, that time would have been very lonely and long. We both loved dogs and my dog Skipper would "talk" to Jackie on the phone during our chats. She was very sweet and memorable.
So sorry she is gone.

Jackie had been my Sister-In-Law for a short time but always a dear friend with a heart of gold, and a smile that was infectious. Her nursing skills were exceptional and so was her sweet soul. My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. I'm sure she's at peace in the loving arms of all the knew her. God Bless

Dear Stevie, family and Nancy,

My heart is so very sad at Jackie’s passing as I’m sure yours is broken. She was such a wonderful person and I considered her both a friend and mentor. When she was my manager on Medical floor I knew I could go to her with any problem and she would help.
During this time when our hearts are broken we know that Jackie is in a better place with our Lord and Savior.

Jackie was so supportive of me and took time every day to talk to me before my shift started while she was clinical coordinator. She will be greatly missed.
