Obituary for Linda L. Leedy
Linda L. Leedy, 77, of Bellefonte, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Born on December 25, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Lee W. and Elsie M. (Hendershot) Dobson.
Linda attended Penns Valley Schools. She worked as a custodian for the State College Area School District until her retirement.
She is survived by her two children, Rene Leigey (Jim) of Bellefonte, and Jerry Leedy of Julian, four grandchildren: Nicole Harris (Mike) of Julian, Megan Douty (Adam) of Bellefonte, Candace Burns (Tyler) of Warriors Mark, and Cassidy Clouser (Lance) of Port Matilda, and her great grandchildren: Peyton Burns, Taylor Burns, Sage Brown, Weston Douty, and Adalyn Douty. Also surviving are three sisters, Shirley Kline of Boalsburg, Nancy Broadwater of Cochranville, and Beverly Rockey of Bellefonte.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two sons, Mark and Danny Leedy, sisters, Rose Marie Englert and Eva Ilgen, and brothers, Willis, Bobby, and Ronald Dobson.
Lindy enjoyed going camping, crocheting, making blankets for her family and friends, and reading Amish books. A loving mother and adoring nanny, she loved her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to the time that she was able to spend with them.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, from 6-8:00 PM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow, beginning at 8:00 PM, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Pencek officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt appreciation and say thank you to the nursing staff at UPMC for the compassionate care that they provided for their mom, Linda.
