Lois A. Poorman, 92, of Mingoville, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at Hearthside in State College. Born on July 11, 1928 in Castanea, PA, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Ketner) Bair. On April 26, 1950 in Mill Hall, she married Clair E. Poorman, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2007.
Lois was a 1946 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

She is survived by her children, Gail Hoffman (Leonard) of Mill Hall, Gregory Poorman (Sharon) of Zion, Donald Poorman (Patty) and Roger Poorman (Maria), all of Mingoville, 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Dale Bair of Mill Hall and son-in-law, Fred Strawser.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Clair Jr. and Gloria Strawser, two brothers, Paul and John, and two sisters, Betty and Edna.

Lois and her husband enjoyed walking and together they canned what they grew in their garden. She was the best grandmother to her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Lois was highly active with her church Nittany Valley Alliance for 60 years; she previously held the position as secretary, bible school director and Sunday school teacher.

There will be a graveside service held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 10am at Hublersburg Cemetery in Hublersburg with Pastor Dave Gouak officiating.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Nittany Valley Alliance Church at 2pm with Pastor Ben LeClair officiating.

Following CDC recommendations, social distancing is encouraged, and face coverings will be required at all services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nittany Valley Alliance Church at 1003 Nittany Valley Drive, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
