Marlene attended Karns City High School. She began working for Weis Markets in 1981 at Store #51 on Valley Vista Drive in State College until their closing, when she moved to Store #33 on Westerly Parkway. After 37 years of service, she retired from Weis Markets in 2018.

She is survived by her three daughters, Michelle Schlegel (Paul) of Elmwood, Wisconsin, Monica Dreibelbis (Brian) of PA Furnace, and Marsha McMurtrie (Jeffery) of Bellefonte; three grandchildren: Stephanie, Kristina, and Miranda, and seven great grandchildren: Camden, Caleb, Connor, Jaxon, Briella, Waylon, and Liam. Also surviving are her four sisters: Joyce Desmond of Butler, Pennsylvania, Janet McArdle (James) of Wilson, Wisconsin, Gloria Croyle of Jennings, Louisiana, and Paula Ambrosia of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and her former husbands, William Fleeger and Joel Bolden, with whom she remained close to.

Marlene enjoyed reading and watching thunderstorms. A true people person with a laugh and smile that could light up any room, she built endless friendships over the years, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an animal lover, especially her cat, Patches.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
