Obituary for Martha A. McClintic

Martha A. McClintic, 87, of State College, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on April 14, 1935, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Billett) Lee. On May 23, 1953, she married her beloved husband, Harold Lincoln McClintic, who preceded her in death on May 20, 1989, after sharing nearly 36 years of marriage together.

Martha attended school at Coleville. She worked as a waitress for the Nittany Lion Inn for over 20 years until her retirement in 1986.

She is survived by her two daughters, Beth Witter (Bob) of Bellefonte, and Ginny Alterio of Lemont, two grandchildren, Kella Thurston (Matthew) of Pittsburgh, and Megan Witter (Seamus Wagner) of Columbus, Ohio, and two great grandchildren, Isabelle and Savannah. Also surviving is a sister, Sarah Neff (James) of Bellefonte, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Jordan David Alterio, son-in-law, David Alterio, and nine siblings: Robert, Ralph, Miles, Alene, William, Kathryn, Grace, Bernice, and Barbara.

Martha enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She loved camping, and especially looked forward to the Grange Fair. She always had a smile on her face and was very social. Truly the “life of the party,” she loved to host any get together to catch up and reminisce with longtime friends and family. Martha will be loved and remembered as an attentive mother, loving Gram, adoring Great Grammy, and a dependable friend by all who knew her.

A public viewing will he held on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 10-11 A.M., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11 A.M., at the funeral home, with Deacon Thomas Boldin officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Meyer Cemetery in Bellefonte.
