Obituary for Mary M. Bonfatto
Mary M. Bonfatto, 94, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Wynwood House in State College. Born on April 19, 1927 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Palma (Corica) Bonfatto.
Mary was employed as an accountant by M.I. Claster and Sons. After retiring from Clasters, she was the treasurer for Bonfatto’s, Inc. until her retirement in 1999.
She is remembered with love by her brother, John Bonfatto, and her sisters, Annette Callahan of Boalsburg, and Rose Letterman (Elmer) of Lemont. Also surviving are two nephews, David Letterman (Sherry) of Boalsburg, and Rick Letterman (Jennifer) of Moon Township, and a niece, Robin Walter (Bob) of State College, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Bonfatto Moore, one brother, Francis J. Bonfatto.
Mary was a life member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler always looked forward to going bowling with friends and family. Her greatest pleasure was traveling and spending time with her family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 11am, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 134 E. Bishop Street, Bellefonte, with Father George Jacopak officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Following CDC recommendations, social distancing is encouraged, and face coverings will be required at all services. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 134 E. Bishop Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
