Dean Lindsey officiating.

A quiet and reserved man, he was the son of Philip Davis (P.D.) Jones and Emilie Link Jones, and was also raised by his step-mother Carrie Foresman Jones.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving his country from October 14, 1942, to December 15, 1945. His decorations and citations included a Purple Heart, a European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars, and a World War II Victory Medal.

Upon his discharge from the Army he returned to complete his education at The Pennsylvania State University where he graduated in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation he worked as a civilian engineer with the U.S. Navy at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard until his retirement when he returned to State College.

He is survived by many cousins.
