Obituary for Rhonda L. Ripka
Rhonda L. Ripka, 72, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on October 28, 1950, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Gummo) Robinson. On October 4, 1975, she married the love of her life, Edwin E. Ripka, who survives at home after sharing over 47 years of marriage together.
Rhonda was a 1967 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She dedicated her life to raising her family and taking care of her home, a job that she was beyond proud to do.
In addition to her husband, Ed, she is survived by her two children, Brett Ripka of Bellefonte, and Crystal Vanderhoof (Jody) of Pleasant Gap, and one grandchild, Reagan Vanderhoof. Also surviving are four sisters, Gloria Smith, Judy Cunningham, Robyn Robinson, and Vicki Caber, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rhonda enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and watching television – especially history documentaries and mysteries. She and Ed could be found in his tent at the Grange Fair. She would often say that she tolerated going because she knew that Ed loved it, but her family and friends knew that she secretly enjoyed it as well, even if she would never admit it! Rhonda was always a caregiver at heart. She loved to have her family over and cook delicious meals for them to share. More than anything, she loved the time that she spent with her family. She leaves behind countless memories that her loved ones will forever cherish.
There will be a public viewing held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 10 - 11 A.M., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11 A.M., with Deacon Thomas Boldin officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
