Obituary for Richard "Rick" W. Grubb

Richard “Rick” W. Grubb, 68, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Centre Care. Born on July 2, 1953, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Elmer L. and Gertrude (Myers) Grubb.

Rick attended school in Bellefonte. He served in the United States Army from 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1971. After his time in the service, he worked as a commercial painter for Keith Tanner before taking a position to drive a garbage truck for Fred Carson Disposal Services. He worked for Carson’s for several years until his retirement.

He is survived by one sister, Margaret Shivery of Mill Hall, and two brothers, Nelson Grubb of Coleville, and Gary Grubb (Connie) of Bellefonte.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Blair.

Rick was a member of Lifegate Baptist Church in Pleasant Gap and was always looking for ways to learn more about religion. He enjoyed gardening and listening to music. His friends and family will remember his kind and friendly personality.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 10 a.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte, with Pastor William Kovacic officiating. The graveside service with full military honors will immediately follow at Advent Cemetery in Milesburg
