Obituary for Robert "Bob" Allen Reese

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Robert (Bob) Allen Reese who passed away at home on February 4, 2023. Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. His infectious smile, kind heart, and unwavering determination will be deeply missed by all.

Born May 27, 1947 in Marietta, Georgia, son of the late Charles Fulton and Virginia Allen Reese, Bob’s family moved to Central Pennsylvania in 1949 to establish their family dairy farm. For nearly fifty years, Reesebrook Farms operated proudly with three generations of family contributing to its success. Bob graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 1965 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education from Penn State University in 1971. Bob served his community as past Chairman of the Walker Township Zoning Hearing Board and as a former board member of the Walker Township Water Association.

Most would see Bob in his truck, side-by-side or golf-cart with his canine buddy Norman or enjoying nature’s splendor from his front porch swing. Bob’s physical size paled in comparison to the enormity of his generous heart. Family, friends, neighbors, and complete strangers knew him by his big, warm smile, and he instantly put everyone at ease with his humor, authenticity, kindness, and good will. Bob loved people— being around them and learning about them—and because they felt his genuine interest, loving him back was very easy. Bob enjoyed hunting, classic cars, Penn State wrestling, football & tailgating, and spending time with friends at the DB Camp. Bob also lived a life of creativity, skillfully crafting beautiful pieces of wood and metal, leaving behind a collection of work that will be cherished for generations.

Bob is survived by his wife Donna (Monsell) Reese of Howard, PA, daughters Kelly McGhee (Sam) of Howard, PA, Karen Kishbach (Tim) of State College, PA, sons Charlie Reese (Becky) of Duncansville, PA, Curt Reese of State College, PA, four grandchildren Matt & Nick McGhee and Landon & Ava Reese and a sister Virginia Reese of Ann Arbor, MI.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
