Robert E. Shawley, 57, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Centre Care Nursing Home. Born on July 26, 1964, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late John Shawley and Patricia “Pat” Lose Shawley, who survives at home.
Robert was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. He worked for PennDOT for several years. In his free time Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at his favorite spot in Spring Creek. He was a quiet man who liked being outdoors, he kept to himself and enjoyed the company of his two dogs, Shadow, and Brandi. Robert was an avid sports fan; he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
In addition to his mother, Pat, he is survived by two children: Josh Bitner of Bellefonte and Amanda Prowell (Levi) of Florida, two sisters, Brenda (Stephen) Horner of TN, Susan Snook of Bellefonte, and three grandchildren, Makayla, Dominic, and Jase.
There will be a public viewing held on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 9-10am at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
