Rose M. Barton, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away at home on Monday, December 5, 2022. Born on June 17, 1937, in Heckscherville, she was the daughter of the George and Marion (Dormer) Frenchick. On January 26, 1957, in Minersville, Pennsylvania, she married her beloved husband, Paul Barton, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2018, after sharing over 61 years of marriage together.

Rose dedicated her life to raising her family and taking care of her home.

She is survived by her five children, Marion Sabella, Julie Barton, Charles Barton (Lenna Neff), all of Bellefonte, Roseann Bomboy of Lewistown, and Peter Barton (Michelle) of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren: Cody Barton, Trevor Barton, Kristy Croyle (Matt), Donald Eden, Keagen Barton, Austin Bomboy, and Leo Bomboy.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Patsy Weise and Laverne Lauderman.

Rose was a former member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. As an avid fan of Penn State football and men’s basketball, she used to go to all football home, away, and bowl games. More than anything, she loved the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandkids, and looked forward to their vacations to the beach in North Carolina.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 10-11 A.M., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11 A.M., with Deacon Thomas Boldin officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
