Obituary for Steven H. Shaffer
Steven H. Shaffer of Bellefonte has gone to sleep in Christ on May 17, 2022. Steve has left family and friends too soon but will always be remembered for his thoughtfulness and care for others. He was always willing to lend a hand to others if he could.
Steve was a 1974 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and attended Centre County VoTech School for 3 years where he studied electricity, he received a diploma and was awarded with outstanding student of 1974. Steve was a long-time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Lock Haven; PA. Steve was an independent contract courier for most of his adult life. He enjoyed family picnics, music, food, nature, and his pet dogs and cats.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Irene Shaffer of Bellefonte, PA, and his sister Pat McMillion of West Virginia. Steve was single but is survived by his remaining siblings: Katharine F. McCloskey, Sharon Penberthy, Brenda Heltman, Richard Shaffer, Louise Greenfield, and his nephew Carey S. Reed who was living with him and looked after him during his illness. Steve also has many nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends who love and miss him.
Family and friends will be received at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA 16823 on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 2pm till 4pm. There will be no services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
