Obituary for Susan W. Dull

Susan W. Dull, 86, of State College, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Born on July 14, 1936, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Charles Harmon and Faye Etta (Kissling) Wagner.

Susan was a 1954 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She attended secretarial school at Katharine Gibbs College in New York. She worked as a Postal Clerk at Penn State for 21 years until her retirement in 2008.

She is survived by her three children, George M. Riglin of Bellefonte, Nancy Dull Stuck (husband, Scott) of Petersburg, and Daniel H. Dull (partner, Julie Long) of Belleville; two granddaughters, Rynne M. Osborne of Altoona, and Niccole M. Vasco of Julian, and four great grandchildren, Emma A. George of Bellefonte, Edyn B. and Ruxen J. Crissinger, both of Altoona, and Wyatt H. Showers of Julian. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret “Peggy” A. Riglin, and all of her siblings. Susan was the last of her generation.

Susan was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bellefonte. Susan loved flowers and tending to her plants; when younger, she enjoyed taking her kids to the movie theater, the park, swimming, fishing, and ice skating. She loved reading, novels, magazines, knitting, Penn State football, ELVIS, the Steelers (especially Bill Cowher) and her beloved Tom Brady. She loved to watch tennis on TV and her favorite was Roger Federer. Some of her favorite shows to watch were Judge Judy, Cheyanne, movies, and anything on the Western channel. She shared her love of music with her children; listened to all the classics of the 60's 70's, 80's and beyond. Susan was a classic pianist, played Chopin, Beethoven and could play the music of many other artists by "ear", a true talent. She would spend hours at the piano playing music into the night with her children by her side, and for all the neighbors to hear too!

Susan was a dedicated mother to her four children, was Mimi to her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved them all more than words can describe. She had an amazing heart of gold, was so very generous and was always fun to be around; she had a keen sense of humor. Susan had special friends and family members that she enjoyed keeping in touch with whether over the phone, through letters and cards, and visits. Susan will be missed by her family and friends. She was a special lady and was loved by all who knew her. Fly high Mimi until we see you again.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 11-11:30 A.M., at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 145 W. Linn Street, Bellefonte. A Memorial Service will begin at the church, at 11:30 A.M., with Pastor Diane Kinley officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Susan to Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.
