Terrance “Terry” R. Lindquist passed away on October 6, 2022, surrounded by family, in the Pleasant Gap home in which he was born 88 years ago. He was born April 17, 1934, the son of the late Theodore A. and Vera (Emenhiser) Lindquist. On December 23, 1961, he married the love of his life, Connie (Burd) Lindquist, who survives him at home after sharing over 60 years of marriage together.

Terry was a 1952 graduate of Bellefonte High School. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard Merchant Marine, delivering high octane fuel to US military bases throughout the world, followed by two years in the US Army. Before being honorably discharged, he was awarded a Letter of Appreciation and the Good Conduct Medal. After his time in the service, Terry spent the majority of his professional career in the insurance industry, retiring from the Tuscarora Wayne Insurance Company in 1996.

In addition to his wife, Connie, he is survived by his son, Robert A. Lindquist (Kristen) of Pleasant Gap, and his daughter-in-law, Hollie of Bellefonte. Also surviving are his two step siblings, Peggy Beightol and Charlie Sager.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Terrance R. Lindquist, II, on August 4, 2018, and his brothers, Ted Lindquist, and Philip Whiting.

Terry was active in his community as a charter member and former president of the Pleasant Gap Lions Club, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Masonic Lodge. He also served on the board of the Bellefonte School District including a term as President. He was a 60-year member of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, lifetime member of the Pleasant Gap Fire Company, Pleasant Gap American Legion, Bellefonte Elks, and the Bellefonte Moose.

Terry was known for his love of music and singing ability, lending his voice to the church choir and the Penns Valley Mens chorus. He was often requested to sing at weddings, funerals, and public events. In his earlier years he enjoyed golfing, playing baseball, camping, and spending time at Black Lake, New York. Terry was a people person who never met a stranger and always had a good story to share.
