Obituary for Thomas K. Garman
Thomas K. Garman, 68, of Centre Hall, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Born on November 11, 1954, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Reed Albright and Ruth Jean (Hackett) Garman.
Thomas was a 1972 graduate of Penns Valley High School and was an outstanding football player. He worked as a press operator in the printing industry for many years and was known for his expertise and quality. He went on to start his own company, Printing Services, Inc. in Frederick, Maryland and ran the company until his retirement.
Thomas enjoyed renovating the family home and sharing life with family and friends. He loved vacations to anywhere warm, especially Florida and the Caribbean, and spending weekends with his family at their house near the Chesapeake Bay. Thomas was fascinated by space and enjoyed building and launching rockets throughout his life.
Thomas is survived by his ex-wife, Patricia Maddox Garman of Frederick, Maryland and their two children and families, Kim Erin Tritch (and Jarrad Howse) of Brunswick, Maryland, Keri Garman Tang (and Patrick Tang) of Great Falls, Montana, and four grandchildren: Emery James and Nora Adalene Tritch, of Brunswick, Maryland, and Emma Elizabeth and Owen Alexander Tang, of Great Falls, Montana. Thomas is also survived by a brother, George Reed Garman of Spring Mills, Pennsylvania, his wife Barbara Ann Garman, and their daughter, Amanda Leigh Garman. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Adam Lee Garman.
To honor his life and love of space, a portion of Thomas' ashes will be launched into orbit on a mission this fall. A private funeral service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
