Obituary for Wayne R. Vonada
Wayne R. Vonada, 79, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Centre Care in Bellefonte. Born on June 3, 1943, in Snydertown, he was the son of the late Fred Vonada and Evelyn “May” (Lucas) Drayer. He is survived by his wife, Carol (May) Vonada.
Wayne was a 1962 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He was employed by Cerro Copper and Brass for 32 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Douglas Vonada of Bellefonte, Gregory Vonada of Pleasant Gap, and Karen Vonada of Los Angeles, California. Also surviving is one sister, Janet Novosel of Howard, and her children, Laurie Caparelle, Jeffrey, and Kevin Novosel.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Vonada.
Wayne was an avid Penn State sports fan and a member of the Penn State Wrestling Club.
