Obituary for William "Butch" Martin Lutz
William “Butch” Martin Lutz, 73, of Bellefonte, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg. Born on April 23, 1950, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Leland B. and Lila L. (Arday) Lutz.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his brother, Robert W. Lutz (Joan), and nephew, Anthony Martin Lutz, and many cousins.
Bill was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Additionally, he was a life member of the American Legion Post #33, life member and past president of the Undine Fire Company #2, and a member of the Moose Lodge #206, all in Bellefonte. He enjoyed following Bellefonte Area High School sports, especially wrestling and softball, for over 40 years. Over the years, he met numerous great kids and families, who filled a place in his heart as his “Sports Family.”
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Centre County Memorial Park in State College, with Rev. Andrew Morgan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of William to the favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
