Evelyn L. Emel, 90, of Bellefonte, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on December 12, 1925, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late James and Carol (Pickle) Mills. She married Arthur Emel, who preceded her in death in 2000.
She attended the Bellefonte School System.
Evelyn was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children; Melvin Emel of Bellefonte, Kenneth Emel of Bellefonte, Irvin Emel of Bellefonte, Ralph Emel of Bellefonte, Evelyn Reese of Bellefonte, Teresa Hill of Lock Haven, and Debra Long of Spring Mills. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Ralph Emel, and three daughters; Carol Emel, Ruth Emel, and Shirley Nyman.
There will be a public visitation held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 11:00am until 12:00pm, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00am at the funeral home.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Advent Cemetery, Milesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home at Po Box 7, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
