Obituary

Gloria L. Thompson, 88, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Centre Care in Bellefonte. Born on December 11, 1932 in Lamar, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Margaret (Fleisher) Barner. On July 8, 1950 she married her beloved husband, Richard H. Gloria attended Lock Haven High School. She worked as a cashier for CVS for several years until her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Thompson of Bellefonte, and Jennifer Day of Milesburg, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Jean Strouse, and a brother, Dale Barner.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Witmer, two sisters, Betty Weaver and Elma Berens, and one brother, Donald.

I've know your mother since her days of working at Parrish Apothecary. I often had the opportunity to talk with her when your father was in Centre Crest. She was a lovely person and I'm sure she will be sorely missed. My heartfelt thoughts are with the family.
